 Grant Application

Grant Application Information

The Gahanna-Jefferson Education Foundation awards two types of grants:

(1) Grants for innovative educational programs. These grants may total up to $1,000 per teacher or up to $2,500 if multiple grades and staff.

The Gahanna-Jefferson Education Foundation strives to support efforts that impact students directly and foster improved student performance. Funding priority will be given to projects that are innovative and utilize resources effectively and efficiently. Grant applicants are encouraged to share their dreams for the students of the Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools.

(2) Mini-grants for up to $300 for programs that support at-risk students and/or promote health and wellness. Funds are available for up to 25 mini-grants.

Who is eligible to apply for a grant?

Any Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools educator may submit a grant application. Applications must be signed by a supervising principal or administrator.

Are there items that may not be funded with GJEF grant proceeds?

GJEF grant monies may not be used to pay for transportation costs, staff salaries, the cost of substitute staff, or consumable supplies. Programs and items which could be funded through traditional school or public funding sources will not be funded.

How do I apply for a GJEF grant?

Each school year there will be two grant cycles.

Applications for the first grant cycle will be available in September and disbursed in December.

Applications for the second grant cycle will be available in January to be disbursed in June.

When will grants be awarded?

Grant recipients will be announced at the Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools Board of Education meetings in December and June.

What are the requirements of grant recipients?

Grant recipients are required to acknowledge the GJEF as a supporting organization when publicizing their project. An interim report and a final report are required to be filed. Recipients will also be asked to prepare a project display that can be used by the Foundation.

Whom do I contact if I have any questions?
